Golfing in Parry Sound
THE PERFECT LOCATION FOR CANADIAN
VACATIONS AND GETAWAYS

Just 20 minutes east of
Parry Sound the award-winning Ridge at Manitou is
considered a golfing sanctuary, surrounded by acres
of unspoiled nature and Manitouwabing Lake, near
Parry Sound. It is framed by rock outcroppings, and
playing through forest and meadowland, it offers a
unique experience on every hole. The Ridge at
Manitou provides an enjoyable round for players of
all abilities.
Spectacular scenery in the heart of the Canadian
shield. The undulating fairways were in pristine
shape. The slope ratings are high and the greens can
be treacherous. The layout is kind to the average
golfer with large landing areas but seldom are the
greens on the same plane.
Officially opened in July 2005 (and voted best new
course in Canada for 2006 by Golf Digest), the
forest-lined holes at the Ridge are typically wide
off the tee, then narrow as they bend past chunks of
granite toward elevated greens. The best hole is the
last, a 503-yard par five that doglegs left
downhill, across a creek that slashes the length of
the fairway. As you turn the corner, the hole opens
up to a vista of water and trees, with the green
teetering on the edge of the lake.
